L. Stephanie Tait, Production Manager
Stephanie is an award winning writer, director, and producer whose main talent lays in saying yes to the craziest opportunities that come her way. She completed a Bachelors of Arts in Film Studies from UW-Milwaukee and earned a Masters of Arts from the University of London’s School of Oriental and African Studies. She also spent time in Scotland curating and organizing independent film festivals and screenings with the Film House Theatre in Edinburgh, and the University of Edinburgh’s Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies Department. When not forcing friends to perform live theatre with her or watch politically or socially charged films, Stephanie spent her time in the UK focused on humanitarian opportunities both within the UK and abroad.
She moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to continue her work in filmmaking, theatre, and podcasting. True to her roots in classical theatre, she runs a monthly classical play reading group, Common Room Players with her husband, artist Brian Carroll, and is the production manager for the Porters of Hellsgate Theatre Company.
Her greatest love after film and theatre is her podcast, Sisters of Sci-Fi which is home to her ongoing audio play, Earth Crew 2042. It allows her to combine all of her favorite things into one fantastical place, unchecked and untethered.
A newbie with Porters, her credits include: Radically Miscast Shakespeare: King Lear (director), Henry IV Parts 1 and 2 (producer), Edward III (production coordinator), and the upcoming Radically Miscast Shakespeare: Twelfth Night (director), and Coriolanus (director).
